First I want to thank our daughter Jana for all her & all the friends who gave us the going away party BBQ!!! Loved it so good !! Although I don't like good bye!! The food and dessert was so good!! Thankyou again!!!!
Its been so interesting this past year watching the Lord go before us, putting the puzzle pieces together preparing the way for us. Sometimes we don't see what is He is doing for us until we look back and see what He Has Done For US!Who would have ever guessed that Stan and I would be heading to live in the countryside of Cambodia helping with farming! I know only God Almighty could have put this together, taking Stan from his shop and business there to having a deep desire in his heart to work with khmer people, sharing his knowledge of building and working with machinery and possibly well drilling, farming ect. It will be exciting to see where God is going to lead from here! We don't want want to miss this exciting ride we are on!
We arrived in Siem Reap with no problems, good flights, actually got some rest, hmmmm maybe because we leave home so exhausted we could sleep anywhere!!
Upon arriving we assumed it would take 2 tuk tuks to get us to our hotel which is about 20 min. from the airport, but no in Cambodia they are professionals at stacking things!
2 trunks, 2 large suitcases 2 small suitcases & 2 backpacks. and us on one tuk tuk.
The next morning we headed off in a taxi to Battambang, to spend time with Phally family, purchasing the Toyota Pickup and visiting with Vondy & Sokry and spending time with the Kids at Vondy's.
Picture is Stan with Pa & the Toyota pu we will use.
Today (Friday) Pa (Phally dad) invited us out to breakfast with some of the other family members, they then took us to see the ancient temple "Ike Temple", the khmer rouge tore it down trying to destroy their history in the 70's. I then went to the Beauty shop to get my hair shampoo'ed ect. ( water hasn't been to plentiful at the house so I figured It would be easier to get a $2.00 shampoo! I was also treated with fresh cucumber facial...
Yesterday(Saturday ) Stan and a few others worked on a project at the church shoveling gravel & laying plastic to improve the driveway. Then in the late afternoon we went on the old bamboo train, it used to be a form of transportation, but now is a tourist attraction . Which I hear is going away soon:( an enjoyable / unique way to see the countryside.
